Recently launched (Monday 29th January 2007), Irish dating site LoveLife.ie met their perfect match when they commissioned Redstrand, a leading Irish web development company, to develop and manage their no charge online dating service 4 months ago.

The site was developed to facilitate the estimated 600,000 single people in Ireland, between the ages of 25 and 45, who are typical users of online dating services. Since the launch last week, 700 singles have registered, covering forty nationalities. The sleek site has an uncluttered and welcoming feel to it and invites new members to join free of charge and enter their personal details, picture and/or video. As with all responsible websites, the input is screened by LoveLife’s administrators for offensive material. An innovative feature to the site is the ‘LoveLinks’ which provides members links to information sites on entertainment, flowers, restaurants, and short breaks – all the information you need for that first and hopefully second date!

Darragh McGann, Co-founder and Business Development Manager, Redstrand said of the project “While developing LoveLife.ie was a fun project and was our first in the area of online dating, the technical and design challenges were really the same as in most other websites that we have developed (Guinness Storehouse, Renault.ie, Maryb.ie); the aim that is common to them all is finding the best way to present users with the information that they are looking for, in a way that is intuitive and simple to use.”

Redstrand developed a messaging service for registered members of LoveLife.ie where they can send secure messages to other members, working very similarly to email except you login to the site to pick up or send your messages. Members can of course ‘block’ unwanted members from sending them messages – always good when you don’t ‘click’ with another member! When LoveLife.ie members login they can see who has viewed their details and who is currently online – letting them know who is available for a ‘love’ chat When a member does find a new ‘love’, they simply request that their data is removed from the site and off they go to the world of happy coupledom!
